Carbon Monoxide (CO) is an odourless and colourless toxic gas that can only be detected by a working carbon monoxide alarm. Produced by the incomplete combustion of fossil fuels used in our everyday appliances, CO is capable of causing severe illness or even death if undetected.
It is crucial to regularly check that your CO alarm remains fully operational during its lifespan. Pressing the test button on your alarm allows you to check that the battery is charged, and that the sensor and audible warning are in full working order. Our reminder service helps you to remember to test your CO alarm at regular intervals, according to your chosen frequency. We also offer a reminder when the batteries in your alarm are due to be changed, as well as a reminder after 5 years that the alarm itself may be due for replacement. Reminders can be set as an SMS or an email.
The service is entirely free and can be cancelled at any time.
