Mains powered ionisation alarm with hush button from Ei, available as a replacement smoke alarm detector head or complete with mounting base plate. This is the latest Ei141"RC" detector - now capable of interlinking with the Ei1529RC remote control switch. The Ei141RC replaces the previous Ei141 model but can still be used to extend and interlink to an existing Ei140 system.
Please Note: The simple installation process of the easichange replacement kit negates the need of an electrician.

Wiring Explained
Mains powered Ei Electronics smoke and heat alarms require a 230V AC power supply and up to 12 alarms can be hardwire interlinked in one system.
To obtain a mains power supply, each alarm can be connected to the nearest lighting circuit using 2 core and earth cable with a separate, dedicated interlink cable connecting all alarms. However, if possible it is recommended that the alarms are all powered from a dedicated circuit from the distribution board using 3 core and earth cable for safety during maintenance, as the interlink cable will carry power from live alarms on other power circuits. Check on the side of the alarm and look for the manufacture date and 'replace by' date to see if the alarm requires replacing. Otherwise try cleaning the alarm around the vents with a vacuum nozzle.
The Ei141(ionisation alarm)is the wrong alarm to be located in the kitchen area. We would recommend a heat alarm for kitchen area. The Ei144 heat alarm gives a fire warning when the temperature at the unit reaches 58°C. Heat alarms are ideal for use in kitchens and garages, where the use of optical or ionisation alarms would lead to unwanted nuisance alarms.
With the Easichange kits you can interchange the heads with the existing bases as all the bases in that series are the same. Using the tool that comes with the Easichange kit makes taking the old head off and putting the new head on quick and easy without the need for an electrician.
Yes, we recommend the Ei261EN. You should also install a Ei159 locator to allow you to find out if the alarm was triggered by CO gas or by fire.
To wire the units correctly you would use 2 core and earth cable to the first unit and 3 core and earth to the interconnected units. The alarms do not have to be earthed but a brass screw connector is provided so that the earth can be safety terminated.
