In an emergency, the UltraFire EasyScape ladder is simply clipped into eyebolts that are installed permanently underneath windows around the home. The ladder is rolled up with a fire-resistant plastic sheet separating the layers to allow tangle free, rapid deployment and protect users as they climb down. With the option to purchase additional bolt fitting sets, the ladder can be used in optional locations depending upon the most suitable evacuation location. The bolt sets included with the UltraFire EasyScape ladder are suitable for masonry but we do also offer the UltraFire EasyScape ladder for Dormer windows which is supplied with timber bolts instead.

Fixing and Deploying the UltraFire EasyScape Ladder
Ensure you refer to the user manual and installation guide before fitting and using the ladder, if you are unsure about the structural soundness of your wall please consult a builder before fitting.
Installing the UltraFire EasyScape ladder
Fix the eyebolts into the wall below the window according to the assembly instructions. You can purchase multiple sets of bolts so that the ladder can be used from more than one window.
Using the UltraFire EasyScape Ladder
Always test prior to an emergency situation according to the instructions. Clip the carabiner onto its corresponding eyebolt.
Deploy the ladder by lifting it onto the window sill, releasing the toggle and pushing the ladder gently out of the window.
Check that the ladder has fully deployed and begin climbing down one person at a time. Ensure that you read the instruction manual fully before attempting to use the ladder.

Q. What type of fire escape ladder is suitable for use with small children and pets?
A.
To be able to carry small children and pets down an escape ladder you would require a child harness or pet harness. These harnesses are suitable for use with all the escape ladders. The escape ladder that is most suitable for use with children, old enough to climb themselves, is the externally fixed Saffold ladder. If you would like a portable fire escape ladder suitable for children the X-It ladder offers the most stability.
Q. Is a wall mounted escape ladder better than a floor mounted ladder?
A.
Most customers prefer wall mounted fire escape ladders. However there are some situations where there is no option but to install a floor mounted fire escape ladder. There may not be enough room under the window or the wall may not be of a solid enough construction. With all fire escape ladders it is very important that the anchor points are solid.
Q. Which ladder is suitable for an attic window with a sloping roof outside?
A.
Both the EasyScape and Rollo Roll-Out escape ladders are suitable for attic applications and can be used with a Velux or Dorma window. They have a fire retardant backing sheet that prevents the ladder getting tangled on deployment.
