Ideal for public locations (eg schools, colleges, pubs, clubs, shops, hotels, sports centres, visitor attractions), these theft stoppers are designed to prevent vandalism, tampering or theft of fire extinguishers. Anti-theft alarms emit a piercing sound when an attempt is made to remove the fire extinguisher. These easy to fit theft-stopping alarms protect fire extinguishers without inhibiting emergency use.
The X Alert fire extinguisher alarmed wall bracket provides a secure mounting point and discourages theft and misuse of extinguishers with a 100dB sounder and LEDs.
The Mini Theft Stopper sounds a loud warning alarm when activated to discourage the theft, vandalism and misuse of extinguishers.
The Fire Extinguisher Theft Stopper acts as a deterrent for thieves and vandals by sounding a powerful 98dB alarm when activated.
Theft alarms are a visual deterrent to stop people, moving, hiding, mis-using or stealing the extinguisher. Should someone try to move the extinguisher then a loud 95-100dB alarm will sound, alerting others to the source of the alarm. Extinguisher anti-theft devices work in such a way that they don't prevent the fire extinguisher being moved in a genuine emergency. In this instance, the alarm will still sound but this could alert others of fire, potentially before the buildings fire alarm has been activated.
Depending on the type of anti-theft device fitted they will work in slightly different ways:
X-Alert – Once the extinguisher is lifted off from the bracket an integrated 100dB alarm will activate along with 12 bright LEDs alerting those close by that an extinguisher has been removed.
Mini Theft Stopper – Using either a magnetic reed switch (suitable for cabinets) the alarm will sound once the door to the cabinet has been opened. The other method is a steel contact clip, that can be placed under the extinguisher, once the extinguisher is picked up the alarm will sound. Alternatively, the tamper pin can be threaded through the steel contact clip, once the tamper pin is removed the 95dB alarm will sound.
Theft Stopper – A cable is placed round the neck of the extinguisher and crimped in place to stop the cable being removed. Once the extinguisher is moved the cable will be pulled from the theft stopper and this will sound a loud 98dB alarm.
