With a choice of two first aid courses available according to the requirements of your business or organisation, on-site first aid courses from First Response Training are carried out at your choice of location by a qualified and experienced trainer. First aid courses are suitable for up to 12 candidates, making on-site training ideal for multiple staff members who require the same first aid knowledge and skills.

Emergency First Aid at Work

Duration and Level of Assessment

Emergency First Aid at Work on-site training is a 1 day course. Candidates are assessed by a qualified first aid trainer through continuous observation. All successful candidates receive a First Response Training certificate - valid for 3 years.

Course Contents

The Emergency First Aid at Work course has been designed for those who are classed as the "appointed person" for first aid in a smaller, low risk environment or place of work. Learning objectives of the Emergency First Aid at Work course are shown below.

  • Describe your actions in an emergency
  • Demonstrate adult resuscitation
  • Demonstrate the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Explain the management of adult choking
  • Demonstrate the management of the unconscious casualty
  • Describe how to recognise and treat bleeding and shock
  • Explain the treatment of minor injuries
First Aid at Work

First Aid at Work on-site training is a 3 day course. Candidates are assessed by a qualified first aid trainer through continuous observation. All successful candidates receive a First Response Training certificate - valid for 3 years.

The First Aid at Work course has been designed for those who need to become a qualified first aider for their workplace. Learning objectives of the First Aid at Work course are shown below.

  • Describe your actions in an emergency
  • Demonstrate adult resuscitation
  • Demonstrate the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
  • Explain the management of adult choking
  • Demonstrate the management of the unconscious casualty
  • Describe how to recognise and treat bleeding and shock
  • Explain the treatment of minor and major injuries
  • Know how to deal with heart attacks and stroke
  • Describe treatment of injuries to bones, muscles and joints
  • Describe treatment of suspected spinal injuries
