If you are selecting a fire door closer or a fire door retainer you need to know the weight of a fire door, as this determines the 'power size' of your door closer or retainer. Not easily done when the fire door is already hung or if you have not even bought a fire door yet.
Please note: power size EN3 is the minimum required for fire doors that must be fitted with an automatic door closer; EN1 and EN2 are not actually suitable for use on fire doors in accordance with EN 1154.
