Kidde Firex KF3 and KF3R are mains powered interlinking heat alarms. These hard wired units have battery back-up cells and can be interlinked with other units from the series to create all round fire protection within the home. Heat alarms are the ideal detectors for kitchens and garages and are perfect for reducing nuisance alarms.

Please Note: The Kidde Firex KF3 (previously the Kidde 4899) and KF3R (previously the Kidde 4892) are replacements for the Kidde 3239HI and Kidde 3239HILL can be interlinked however the new models cannot be used on the same base plates and use different connector blocks.

Q. How can we test the alarm to make sure it is working?
A.
The manufacturer's recommendation is to test the alarm by pressing the test button. This will simulate a heat input at the heat sensor. You can also test it with a hair dryer but make sure that the hairdryer is kept away at a suitable distance from the alarm. Do not attempt to test the alarm by using open fire or excessive heat as this may damage the unit.
