Designed to provide secure access control into a building, our range of magnetic locks and access control devices include maglock kits with a keypad or proximity reader entry system. These devices also include either an electrical release strike or an electromagnetic lock. When fitted, each kit ensures that only authorised persons can access restricted buildings or areas. Depending on the access system, there is an optional switch and call point for secure and emergency exit. The access control maglock kits have a low-profile design and are suitable for use on single doors.
Protect staff and customers with the Germgard Smart Hand Sanitising System to prevent access to a building or area until users have sanitised their hands.
Magnetic door locks are reliable, easy to install, and operate quickly. They are also durable due to their minimal moving parts. They use an electromagnet to secure doors; when electricity flows through the electromagnet, a magnetic field attracts and holds an electromagnetic plate on the door to a corresponding plate on the frame, locking the door.
These locks therefore require continuous power to remain locked, and can be vulnerable to power outages without a backup system. In the event of a fire, however, this allows access-controlled doors to become fire exits.
Magnetic locks are commonly used in commercial buildings, secure facilities, emergency exits. This type of lock can be wired into the fire alarm system, meaning that the magnets will deactivate when the fire alarm is triggered. This allows access-controlled doors to become emergency exits in the event of a fire.
