Does the job The self-contained switch is a sealed unit with a ten-year lithium battery. If the smoke detectors are mounted too high to test by pressing their own test buttons this unit avoids the need for steps. It will need to be placed in a secure place to avoid tampering such as a cupboard. If any of the smoke detectors can be reached easily to test there is no need to purchase this product.
