Array ( [name] => Adsorption [title] => Adsorption vs Absorption [content] =>
Absorb - to take in / to soak up (much like the characteristics of a sponge) where the absorbed material doesn't change its characteristics
Adsorb - to hold (molecules of a gas, liquid or solute) as a thin film on the outside surface or on internal surfaces within the material (in this case FAST-ACT). This essentially stops the characteristics of the adsorbed material being effective
In a chemical sense, adsorption (notice the "D") is a the process whereby the atoms, ions or molecules of the substance being dealt with will be stick to the surface of the adsorbent material being applied. This differs from absorption in which the substance is drawn into the body of the absorbent material.
