The standard does not give recommendations on whether or not a fire alarm system should be installed in premises. Within the context of this standard, fire detection and alarm systems ranges from those comprising a simple call point and sounder up to complex networked systems with numerous automatic detectors, call points and sounders connected to indication and control equipment.
