    [content] => <p>BS EN388 is a British Standard relating to protective gloves and clothing.<br />The tested item is given a four digit rating based on four categories:</p>
<ul>
<li>Abrasion resistance 1-4 (1 being the lowest rating, 4 being the highest rating)</li>
<li>Blade cut resistance 1-5 (1 being the lowest rating, 5 being the highest rating)</li>
<li>Tear resistance 1-4 (1 being the lowest rating, 4 being the highest rating)</li>
<li>Puncture resistance 1-4 (1 being the lowest rating, 4 being the highest rating)</li>
</ul>
<p>E.g. a rating of 1213 means an abrasion rating of 1, a blade cut rating of 2, a tear resistance rating of 1 and a puncture resistance rating of 3.<br />If the tested item wasn't tested in a certain category the number is replaced by an 'x'.<br />E.g. a rating of 12x3 shows that the tear resistance test was not performed on the tested item.<br /><img src="../images/jShopUploads/EN388.jpg" alt="EN388" width="500" height="450" /></p>
