An emergency latch allows a fire exit door to be secured against unauthorised access from the outside whilst ensuring that the occupants of a building can escape through the door easily in an emergency situation

Emergency latches should only be used for applications where a final exit door is to be used only by trained personnel that have prior knowledge of the device and a panic situation is unlikely to occur.
