Most modern smoke and heat alarms feature a silence or hush button which temporarily stops the alarm from sounding when it thinks there is a fire. This is most often used to silence nuisance alarms, such as from cooking fumes or burnt toast, and usually causes the alarm to ignore the readings of its detector for a set period of time regardless of whether or not the symptoms of fire persist. FireAngel's Smart Silenceā¢ feature will override a manual silence before the end of the standard 10-minute delay if high levels of smoke remain, helping to ensure the safety of building occupants.
