CRI stands for "Colour Rendering Index," which is a standard measurement to categorise the effect of a light source on the appearance of an object's colour. CRI ranges from 0 to 100, with 100 representing natural outdoor lighting on a typical sunny day.
The lower the CRI of a light source the more dull and washed out colours will appear while the closer a bulb's CRI to 100 the brighter and more true-to-life colours will appear, with the industry generally recognising a CRI of 80 as a good light source.
