Every month we will be "interviewing" someone to get a really good insight into what makes them tick. Harry has kindly volunteered to be first in the "hot seat" :)

What is your earliest memory?

Apart from a vague memory of my toy penguin’s beak fitting just perfectly up my nose, my first proper memory is about my family and neighbour getting really excited and meeting up to sit around the few TVs available to watch the first moon landing in July 69, so I was pretty exactly 3 years old.

What is the most challenging thing that you have ever done?

Hmm, I should say something like ‘leaping from the aircraft with only a bed sheet to catch my fall’, but the truth is, it definitely was when I asked my first girlfriend whether she liked to kiss (no, not whether she would like to kiss me, I was not THAT forward).

How do you cope with stress?

Easy, really – I just let my heart beat go through the roof, come out in a sweat and stutter – honestly, anybody can do this, just try. After that, and once it’s all done I calm down by playing piano or recently I have started to enjoy a ride on my motorbike (yes, I know, it has L-plates on, thank you)

What is your favourite meal and why?

Big meals are my favourite meals. Oh, yes, and ideally anything to do with seafood

What is your most memorable place and why?

I have a thing about seeing childhood places, or places where I lived with Angie. Regensburg, where we lived in the last years before moving to the UK, is one of my favourites.

What made you smile today?

Recording a new corona-age birthday message for my brother in law. We all just jumped up and down singing ‘happy birthday’ and then accelerated the speed. Pretty funny, although I should not say so myself, really!

What are you scared of?

Zombies, other un-deads and pandemics,….. oh sorry, I wasn’t going to say this!! Seriously, it’s social events where you meat relatives or school mates that you have not seen for a very long time and you cannot remember their names.... at all! It’s a bit like the typical nightmares involving Pyjamas. It’s happening and you cannot stop it. I get goose flesh just thinking about it!

If you could pass a song or piece of music down to the next generation, what would it be and why?

Chopin Piano Sonata no 2 opus 35, ideally played by Evgeny Kissin – without doubt! It’s complex, rich and packed to the top with strong and sometimes raw emotions!

What is your hot tip of the week?

More than ever, at this moment in time, it is essential to look forward and recognise the challenges that could be facing you and then deal with them – now, not tomorrow!
