The battery compartment on the torch houses 4 x AAA batteries, but only uses 2 of them at any time. When the 2 batteries in use lose power, simply slide the battery tray out of the torch, twist it 180° and slide it back into the torch. The torch will now use the second set of 2 x AAA batteries.</p>
