Product Manager
Overview:
Responsible for the maintenance and improvement of Safelincs pricing structure and dealing with suppliers in tandem with The Commercial Development Manager and other Product Managers.
Aid in maintenance of existing product listings and live stock figures to ensure accuracy on websites and in customer correspondence and to improve sales of product lines. Reduce slow moving stock through improving / altering product presentation.
Join the defect goods team to analyse supplier issues and follow up complaints. Oversee returned goods from customers and deal with systems and suppliers as appropriate.
Organise full warehouse bi-annual stock takes and spot checks as the internal stock champion, overseeing daily stock control and goods in / out processes.
Role and Responsibilities
Product Management
- Be in direct contact with suppliers. These communications must be closely co-ordinated with the Commercial Development Manager
- To edit and make website changes where necessary
- Ensure that edits to product listings and pages are peer-reviewed. Also peer-review work of colleagues
- Learn to correctly use all relevant software and systems
- Work closely with other Product Managers and the Commercial Development Manager to ensure that we have full holiday cover
- Take part in product related meetings
- Continuously analyse product ranges in the market appropriate to Safelincs
- Carry out content reviews and maintain content throughout Safelincs website portfolio
Stock Management/Stock Champion
- Maintain supplier pricing in relevant systems and analyse impact
- Liaise with suppliers to negotiate better pricing and purchasing terms
- Review slow moving stock and make corrective and preventative actions
- Carry out price comparisons when price list is updated and on request from manager to ensure Safelincs are placed correctly in the market
- Respond to customer contact through phone, fax or e-mail in a timely manner
- Deal with customer and company information with strict confidence
- Deal with customer complaints in a sympathetic and supportive manner
- Organise stock take events and enter the stock take figures into Sage, reporting your findings and investigating any discrepancies further
- Carry out regular spot checks on stock with available personnel
Return and Defect Goods Management
- Oversee and process products returned by customers
- Distribute work associated with returned products to relevant staff
- Maintain processes in accordance with company policy
- Send defect goods back to supplier
- Chase reports of defect goods from suppliers
