<h2>Application</h2>
<p>Intumescent downlight covers should be placed above every downlighter in a plasterboard or suspended ceiling.  In the event of a fire the intumescent material will expand to seal any gaps in the ceiling and preventing  the passage of fire and smoke.</p>
