Overview
As a Team Leader you are responsible for working on, overseeing and distributing tasks to the Product Team to achieve departmental and business objectives. You will communicate the objectives to the rest of the team, identifying opportunities pro-actively. As Team Leader you are responsible for managing day to day HR tasks in the Product Department and will also be required to form a strong working relationship with customer service staff and suppliers.
You will support the Purchasing Team with supplier and product information and work with the Commercial Manager to explore new opportunities and product / web site developments.
Roles and Responsibilities
Departmental Management
- Manage the Product Team on a daily basis, providing help and advice
- Prioritise tasks and ensure that work patterns accommodate the needs of the business
- Create and communicate product listing guidelines
- Generate enthusiasm among team members and pro-actively challenge others to improve their own skills and knowledge
- Pro-actively address issues within the team that could lead to dis-engagement and lack of productivity
- Identify training needs and opportunities within the team
- Organise and provide training for colleagues on new products and provide training on Safelincs product ranges to new members of staff
- Provide project status and work reports
- Lead in a professional manner, demonstrating expected behaviours and work ethic
- Work flexibly to achieve specific tasks and to maintain the workflow of the department
- Check and sign off timesheets, monitor working hours and book in holiday requests
- Conduct probation reviews / appraisals / disciplinary
- Maintain confidentiality when involved in discussions with regards to other staff / business development etc.
Product Management
- Identify new and profitable products
- Meet with suppliers to discuss performance and identify new opportunities to develop innovative product range
- Improve our listings based on team discussions
- Ensure that new product listings and pages are peer-reviewed. Also, peer-review work of colleagues
- Take part in all product related meetings
- Be able to edit websites where necessary
- Continuously analyse product ranges in the market appropriate to Safelincs
- Generate monthly product sales reports
- Carry out price comparisons when necessary to ensure Safelincs are placed correctly in the market
- Carry out content reviews and maintain content throughout website portfolio
- List products across our portfolio of websites in accordance with guidelines and procedures
Purchasing Assistance
- Support Purchasing with supplier / product information
- Help Purchasing to improve purchasing routines
- Ensure that price lists and ERP are maintained
- Support Stock takes
Customer Service
- Support the Sales team with product information and assistance in any form necessary
Job Type: Full time
Wage: Between £10.00 and £12.90 per hour, dependant on experience
Location: Alford, Lincolnshire
