How Does the Saffold Fire Escape Ladder Work?

When the Saffold ladder is closed the anti-slip rungs are concealed within the low-profile rails. The ladder is then only 74mm deep.

The ladder is secured at the top using a stainless steel pin which prevents unauthorised access but can be easily removed for an emergency descent.

Once the pin has been removed the ladder can be opened, deploying the rungs and providing solid footing for your escape.

The Saffold escape ladder is engineered to be self-supporting and does not rest on the floor. Each rung adds to the strength of the ladder. Unlike most ladders, the strength of the ladder increases with the length of the ladder.
