Innohome Stove Guard effectively prevents cooker fires from starting

The kitchen is often considered to be the main hub of a family home but did you know it is also the place most at risk of accidental fire?

Over 50% of house fires start in the kitchen, specifically from the cooker. While traditional smoke alarms can warn of fire, they are often prone to false alarms from normal cooking activities and can be irritating. By the time a smoke alarm has been activated, toxic gases created by fire (which account for 60-80% of fatalities) have already formed.

The Innohome Stove Guard recognises 'abnormal' cooking situations and sounds a warning alarm. If the alarm is not silenced the cooker will automatically shut down preventing the formation of toxic gases.

Innohome Stove Guard Cooker Test

The Innohome Stove Guard has undergone various tests including this cooker fire test carried out in a large fire testing hall based at VTT Expert Services Ltd in Espo, Finland.

The test shows 2 cookers with unattended oil pans left on the hob. The temperatures of both pans are monitored and the conditions are identical... the outcomes are very different.

The cooker on the left is protected by an Innohome Stove Guard which automatically cuts the power to the cooker after 4 mins. 31 secs. preventing the pan from catching fire.

The cooker on the right is not fitted with a safety device and as the temperature of the oil increases to well over 300°C toxic smoke begins to billow and the pan catches fire. This could be the start of a potentialy fatal situation.
