The ladder can be made ready to use in well under a minute, even by somebody who is not technically minded. Simply follow the steps illustrated below. More information is available on our videos.

1. Remove top cover

2. Open window

3. Throw protective canvas over the ledge

4. Throw down guiding rope

5. Throw out capsule

6. Let chute extend completely

7. Tip up entrance frame

8. Pull belt

9 Push up entrance

10. Enter feet first without shoes

11. Proper gliding position

12. Leave the capsule

Speed of descent is around 2.1 metres (7 feet) per second, compared to about 5 metres (16½ feet) per second for an average elevator. This allows 8 to 10 people to make a safe 30 metre (100 feet) descent in just two minutes!
When several people use the chute at once, the physical laws of friction and gravity keep people spread evenly apart and prevent traffic jams in the chute.
Burglar-Proof! Access cannot be gained to the building from outside.
Installation does not alter the outward appearance of the building.
