Overview
- Responsible for the picking, packing and shipping of orders
- Responsible for the picking, packing and shipping of International orders
- Responsible for booking in of delivered goods
- To ensure health and safety and cleanliness of the warehouse environment
Role and Responsibilities
Warehouse Operative
Packing and Shipping
- Collection of orders from sales office and accurate selection of orders from warehouse
- Performing barcoder quality scanning out checks.
- Appropriate and speedy packing of orders, including all relevant paperwork and stickers with each shipment, with a 0.3% error tolerance
- Checking of quantities, products and delivery addresses and signing of all invoices
- Input of orders into the appropriate system, Business post, DHL, Fedex or Royal Mail as required.
- Accurate processing of International and Pallet shipments
- Handling of goods according to in-house training
Goods Inward
- Accurate checking in of goods upon arrival, signing delivery note to confirm package quantities.
- Goods inwards scanning in according to the delivery note.
- Ensuring timely booking in of incoming deliveries(At least twice daily-Noon and 4.00pm)
- Loading and unloading of deliveries in a responsible manner
General
- Stock control – participation of stock takes as when required.
- Reporting of damaged goods to Warehouse manager
- Use Business post integration to its full potential
- Always act in a responsible manner
- Perform stock control and storage using Fork Lift Truck and FIFO procedure as required.
- Placing of booked-in deliveries into stock
- Packaging of extinguishers prior to storage as required.
- Monthly reporting of forced/missed orders.
- Perform routine checks on Racking/PPE
- Responsible for the forklift truck check prior to its first use of the day
- Perform routine shredder maintenance.
- Perform all other appropriate Warehouse duties as required by your line manager.
Health and Safety of the Warehouse
- Disposal of unwanted packaging materials in adherence to environmental
policy.
- High visibility work wears to be worn at all times.
- Recording of daily forklift truck checks before the first use of the day and reporting of any problems
- Operation of the forklift truck in an appropriate and safe manner, in adherence to training given on forklift truck training course
- Ensuring general cleanliness, tidiness and safety of the warehouse at all times, and reporting of any potential hazards
Protective Clothing Requirements
- It is a requirement that warehouse staff wear the issued protective footwear at all times, notifying the manager of wear or fault to ensure speedy replacement
- It is a requirement that warehouse staff wear protective hat when working in the warehouse racking area excluding the packing hut.
- High visibility T-shirt or fleece to be worn at all times.
- It is a requirement that warehouse staff wear protective gloves, goggles and apron when checking or topping up battery of forklift truck
